What Makes Us Different?… Seven Key Factors Do…

Experience: RICHARD KORB provides clients with his experience as a former partner at a large law firm and senior counsel for several major public companies–but he gives them personalized attention without the overhead or costs associated with a big firm. RICHARD has handled many tough and complex cases for individuals, start-ups and large Fortune 500 companies alike.  RICHARD has also represented clients in numerous mediations, arbitrations and other proceedings throughout Northern California and he is a certified court-approved mediator.

Attention: We understand the value of personal attention and service:  In many law firms, your case won’t be handled by a senior partner unless you have a major case and are prepared to pay thousands of dollars. But Richard will personally handle your case—each step of the way. If you need to appear in court, Richard will be at your side. Your case is never “too small” and we will not pass off your case off to an inexperienced associate or legal assistant or make you feel like you’re in a “mill.”

Combined Legal & Business Background: Richard leverages his unusual background of legal and business experience to save you time and money and get your case resolved without the stress and pain of endless litigation and court appearances. Because Richard has handled several hundred cases and has counseled large and small companies and is a trained negotiator and mediator, he can often negotiate practical solutions to many legal problems that will save you time, money and stress. At the same time, he has the experience to take your case all the way when settlement is not an option.

Compassion: Richard is professional, yet, down-to-earth andcompassionate. Despite his experience and credentials, he is not aloof or intimidating. Richard understands that each client is different and that they are often facing difficult choices at a very stressful time. Richard will listen carefully, take the time to analyze the circumstances unique to each client, and help them make the best decision.

Efficiency: We keep our overhead low to save you time and money while allowing you to get the benefit of a senior attorney at your side–with the goal of minimizing stress and maximizing efficiency.

Affordable: Finally, we are very affordable—about half the cost of a lawyer of similar experience at a big firm.

Superior Credentials and Training: Richard graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, Phi Beta Kappa with highest honors in Political Science and received his J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law, where he was a contributing editor to the Hastings International Law Review and a finalist in Moot Court. After serving as a partner in a major law firm and as senior counsel for public companies, Richard decided to open up his own firm—focusing on individuals as well as smaller companies. He has counseled and represented several hundred individuals and companies of all shapes and sizes in and out of court. As outside counsel, Richard successfully negotiated and litigated several hundred court cases in diverse areas. As business counsel to private and public companies, Richard has drafted and negotiated several hundred contracts, leases and licenses.

Win-Win Proposition: Whether we take your case to court or settle it early-on, you, the client, get the best of both worlds: big firm experience/ small firm personalized attention at affordable rates.

Richard is licensed to practice law in California and he is a past or present member of the American Bar Association, the Contra-Costa & Alameda County Bar Associations (Business and Bankruptcy Law Sections) and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. In addition to his legal practice, Richard is a certified mediator and serves on the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) panel for the Alameda and Contra Costs County Courts. Richard has published articles and lectured on various legal topics.
